Middle East Technical University Faculty of Architecture and Museum Ankara
The METU campus and the Faculty of Architecture were designed by Altuğ and Behruz Çinici, who won the first price in the national architecture competition in 1961. The construction of the Faculty of Architecture, that was the first building of the campus, was completed in 1963. The Faculty of Architecture is considered as one of the best examples Modernism in architecture in Türkiye. Located adjacent to the Faculty of Architecture, the METU Archaeology Museum is one of the first buildings on the campus. With the support of Rector Kemal Kurdaş, it began operating as a museum in 1969. In the Museum that continues its activities as a "private museum" under the auspices of the Historical Environment Values Research Center (TAÇDAM), the museum exhibits artifacts found at archaeological sites on campus, and from four Phrygian tumuli of Ankara are also exposed in the Museum.
